Current Designs Solstice Gt
Cost: Contact us for latest prices
Fibreglass:
Kevlar:

The Solstice GT is the flagship of the Solstice line. This very stable and predictable crafts hull has a fine entry and exit which allow the GT to slice effortlessly through the water. Outstanding acceleration and excellent speed coupled with tracking that is a joy to experience is what the Solstice line of boats all have in common. Although the GT has a fine waterline, it has a nicely flared bow, which gives the paddler a dry ride and increases the performance of the boat in adverse conditions especially when loaded.
The cockpit is 31" long, affording easy entry and exit, especially for the large paddler. The GT has lots of storage room and has a flush large-access forward hatch, which simplifies storing gear in the bow compartment. Recessed deck fittings and perimeter safety lines on the GT are standard features. The GT is available in a high volume version which will accommodate a large paddler or suit someone wanting extra carrying capacity. The hull on the high volume (GTH) is 3/4" deeper, which simply adds to the overall volume and gives additional space to the cockpit. The GTH will fit even the largest of paddlers. A wide base seat is standard on the GT High Volume.
If you are seeking comfort, stability and superior handling in a sea kayak, you must experience the GT.

The Solstice GTS is the sleeker sister to the Solstice GT. With a 22" beam, the GTS has a slender footprint in the water, gliding effortlessly; it offers a clean entry and exit. Each Solstice GT feature adorns the smaller Solstice GTS: recessed deck fittings, rigging and perimeter lines as a safety feature. The flush forward access hatch gives the deck a clean undisturbed look, and minimizes spray on the foredeck. The hull has a shallow "V" cross sectional shape that gives the GTS excellent primary stability while allowing a fun, responsive feel when making lean turns. The Solstice GTS is easy to enter and exit. The cockpit offers a snug fit with molded thigh braces, a feature that gives additional control and comfort to the paddler by putting the paddler in contact with their craft. The GTS is available in the standard volume or a higher volume version. With a 3/4" deeper hull, this version will carry more gear and fit a slightly larger paddler.

If you love touring but hunger for speed, then the Extreme will suit your needs.

Kevlar:

It's fun, playful and pure magic. The Caribou "S" is fast, nimble, and a pure joy to paddle.
When our head designer Brian Henry saw and paddled the Caribou "S", he was so impressed that he asked its designer, Barry Buchanan if he would like Current Designs to produce his kayak. We are very proud to include Barry's wonderful kayak design in the Current Designs family.
The Caribou is best described as a modified Greenland design with a narrow, hard chine hull and a low deck profile. This shallow vee, hard chine hull design offers unusually high stability. the narrow beam and the low deck offer reduced windage and a sporty appeal.
The Caribou features a clean deck arrangement with flush hatches fore and aft. Recessed deck fittings accommodate full deck rigging and safety perimeter lines. The seat comes with a comfortably padded backband. The easy to enter cockpit is molded with padded thigh braces shaped to fit a wide range of paddler sizes.
The skeg is standard on the Caribou "S" and when deployed, allows this nimble craft to track harder when in adverse conditions.
A long, narrow craft with a clean appearance and a gracefully sweeping sheer line, the Caribou "S" displays its performance bred heritage by its very presence.

Current Designs GulfStream
Cost: Contact us for latest prices
Fibreglass:
Kevlar:

The Gulfstream kayak represents a union of effort between North America and Europe, through the collaboration of kayak designers from both continents. World-famous designer and paddler Derek Hutchinson has teamed up with Current Designs designer Brian Henry to develop the majestic Gulfstream kayak.
Building on the strengths of Derek Hutchinson's favorite kayak hull, Brian and Derek created the craft to deliver a magical blend of British flair and outstanding performance, with a North American influence, and high tech construction.
The Gulfstream is highly maneuverable and will appeal to those who want to make their kayak dance with a tilt of the boat and the stroke of the paddle. The Gulfstream responds beautifully. Both the highly experienced paddler and the novice will enjoy the Gulfstream because of its performance, as well as its forgiving nature.
Thanks to the technology of vacuum bagging, the weight of this British style kayak is only 54 pounds in fiberglass and 48 pounds in KEVLAR®.
The Gulfstream is equipped with forward and stern hatches constructed of a sturdy rubber material which provides a completely waterproof seal. The forward hatch is round and 9 1/2" in diameter. The stern hatch is oval and measures 11" x 16 1/2". These conveniently designed hatches provide ample space for storing and retrieving gear.
The unique day hatch on the starboard side, just behind the paddler, has a 7 1/2" diameter round access hatch. The day hatch is within arm's reach of the paddler from the cockpit. A third bulkhead behind the access hatch makes this compartment self contained.
Features such as recessed deck fittings and perimeter lines are standard on every Gulfstream.
A retractable skeg is standard on the Gulfstream. It is designed to add directional stability to the
kayak in adverse conditions, or when the paddler requires stiffer tracking.
If you look good in a kayak, the Gulfstream will make you look marvelous!

(with Rudder)

Current Designs' Breeze is a highly versatile daytripper-style kayak. It is designed specifically for North America's millions of birdwatchers, naturalists and outdoor photographers; and for those people who simply want to "mess around in boats".
Performance is not an issue. This small touring kayak can handle the roughest conditions, yet it cruises nicely at an easy touring pace. The Breeze fits a broad size range of paddlers and has been designed to be extremely user-friendly.
At 13' 6" in length, the Breeze is the shortest of Current Designs' kayaks. With its fish-form, shallow-vee hull design this small kayak has tremendous stability. A long "easy to enter and exit" cockpit with padded thigh braces. The stern bulkhead and a generously sized stern hatch make storing gear easy. The secured bow buoyancy bag gives the boat adequate flotation in the event of a capsize. The Breeze is decked out like all Current Designs kayaks with full deck rigging as well as perimeter safety lines.
The Breeze is actually the rotomolded sister-ship of the Pachena, a Current Designs model which has gained a popular following over the last seven years. Because of the broad appeal and great value, the Breeze is one of the most popular Current Designs models.
